We don’t need to tell you all the reasons why brunch is great. From Mimosa’s to Hollandaise, the weekend wouldn’t be same without it.  If you’re a Carlton local, chances are you have heard of Stovetop. Sitting smack bang in the middle of Melbourne Uni territory on Leicester St, their all-day breakfast and lunch menu always draws a crowd.

Opening back in 2013, owners Sam and George Seoud, Elias Abighosn and Paul Nasr wanted to share their love of Italian stovetop espresso with Melbourne’s north. Their signature Stovetop House Blend is accompanied by rotating seasonal guest blends, currently Brazil’s Alice Estate with notes of Hazelnut, butterscotch and caramel. If white coffee is more your vibe, head barista Daniel Lee has you covered with the most insane latte art that would give Picasso a run for his money.

With your gram worthy coffee in check, it’s time to eat. An open kitchen and coffee station means you’re graced with the sweet smell of freshly roasted coffee and the heavenly flavours of the kitchen from the minute you step through the door of the industrial-style space.

Head chef Damien Clark and his team have perfected the art of the unexpected with modern takes on all the OG brunch favourites like the Stovetop Benny with braised beef rib and fried potato waffle, Miso & Sake Cured Salmon and Raspberry and White Chocolate Waffles. For all you foodies out there, be sure to check out their rotating weekly specials for something really special like the chocolate and hazelnut hotcake with Nutella, raspberry and fairy floss.

With a full bar and signature cocktail list on offer, celebrate making it through another week with a Bloody Mary in hand. Being just a 2-minute walk from the Queen Vic Market, afternoon drinks in the city is always on the cards.
