Grill’d, the healthy burger expert, has today announced that it is joining forces with Melbourne-based crowd funding platform Pozible, to promote and support three creative and locally-driven community projects through its Local Matters program.
From now until Wednesday 25 February, this exciting new partnership is calling for submissions from anyone with a great creative idea looking for funding to bring about positive social change within the local community.
Three projects will be selected and appear as a crowdfunding campaign on pozible.com.au during the month of April. In addition, Grill’d has committed to showcase the projects via Local Matters in all Grill’d Melbourne CBD restaurants as part of the ‘Made Pozible with Local Matters Community Collection’.
The Local Matters program aims to support and build awareness for local community groups and initiatives that are making a positive contribution to their local area. Every time a customer buys a burger in any Grill’d restaurant across Australia, they receive a token which they are asked to place in one of three jars representing local groups. At the end of each month, the tokens are counted and Grill’d donates $300 to the local initiative that receives the most tokens and $100 to the other two projects.
Already committed to supporting the local community, Grill’d and Pozible are raising the bar with the ‘Made Pozible with Local Matters Community Collection’ by awarding $2,000to the ‘Crowdfunding Fave’ based on support from Grill’d customers and $500 to each of the three projects that is successful in reaching their campaign target.
Simon Crowe, Grill’d Founder and MD, says: “We take great pride in giving back to the local community through our Local Matters program, which, over the course of the year supports well over 3,000 local community groups and initiatives nationally. Teaming up with an innovative and like-minded organisation like Pozible will open up this already thriving program to a new group of budding change makers and social entrepreneurs, and help them get their projects off the ground.”
Rick Chen, Pozible Co-Founder, added: “We are excited to be partnering with Grill’d to further develop their Local Matters program. We’re committed to supporting local community groups and the three successful projects will receive invaluable training, education and advice from the Pozible team to ensure they are well-equipped to manage their initiative moving forward.”
As part of the duo’s commitment to supporting up-and-coming socially conscious thinkers, on Wednesday 18 February, Grill’d and Pozible will host a free inspiration forum at Grill’d Little Bourke Street at 6.30pm. This will feature a panel discussion, where guest participants will hear from both Simon and Rick, together with former Local Matters participants. The session will focus on giving attendees advice on how to turn their socially responsible ideas into viable businesses that give back to the community.
Applicants are asked to submit their project idea, by Wednesday 25 February at www.pozible.com/made-pozible.
