Start your summer the So Frenchy So Chic way with a free lunchtime pop-up picnic Head along to Treasury Gardens at lunchtime on Wednesday 10th December to get a taste of next year’s So Frenchy So Chic In The Park with a free hamper from Bright Young Things plus a sample of the freshest tunes from France.

The food

We will be giving away 150 mini hampers from gourmet caterers Bright Young Things, featuring a traditional baguette with poached chicken, toasted walnuts, cornichons, soft herbs,aioli & baby cos leave. Broccolini & summer pea tart with mint, caramelised shallots and chevre And for le dessert? A delicious Opera cake – layers of almond sponge, coffee syrup, coffee buttercream and chocolate glaze.

We will also hand out First in first served! Capi will be on board too with some refreshing natural fruits sodas.

The music

During the pop-up picnic we will be playing the newly released So Frenchy So Chic double album. Now in its tenth year, this wildly popular (over 150,000 albums sold) compilation is a cornerstone

of the French music scene in Australia, offering a yearly entree to the best sounds from both new and established French-speaking musicians around the world. The 2015 edition, released November

29, is an eclectic collection of the latest and greatest in French hiphop, electro pop, rock, country and alt folk.

The festival

This picnic is just an amusebouche for when So Frenchy So Chic In The Park takes over Werribee Park on Sunday 11th January 2015, It’s set to be a perfect summer’s day of the finest French food and wine with a soundtrack to match. The brilliant headliners, direct from France, are: La Femme’s, Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains, Emilie Simon and The Dø. Bring a picnic rug, pick up a gourmet hamper, stretch out with something sparkling or kick off your shoes for some barefoot dancing on the grass.
