Celebrating the best bars and bartenders in Melbourne, the nominees for the 2016 Time Out Melbourne Bar Awardshave been announced.

Winners across eleven categories will be revealed at the Awards ceremony on Monday 7 December at the brand new host venue, The Mill House in Flinders Lane. Now in their fourth year, the awards are an exciting night for both the industry and the public.

Time Out Australia CEO Michael Rodrigues says, “Each year the Time Out team secretly visit Melbourne’s bars, give them a fresh review and nominate the best for our Awards. The Awards are our way of saying thanks to the people and venues that keep Melbourne’s night-time culture vibrant.”

The night’s top gong is for Bar of the Year while the People’s Choice Award hands voting to the public to choose the most popular bar of 2015. Acknowledging the diversity of Melbourne’s bar scene, there’s Best Party Bar, Best Bar Food, Best Bar Team, Best Cocktail Bar, and Best Wine Bar awards. Best New Bar and the Hot Talent Award honour the excellence in the new generation on the scene, while the Legend Award pays homage to one of the industry’s most influential and highly regarded venues or individuals.

The Time Out Bar Awards are an industry-recognised celebration of talent, voted on by independent editors and reviewers. Winners in last year’s awards included such bars as the Everleigh, Le Bon Ton, Black Pearl, Bar Americano and Harry & Frankie.

The Time Out Melbourne Food Awards ceremony will be emceed by Andrew McClelland, all-round funny guy and DJ behind club nights Yeh Yeh and Finishing School. Tickets to the awards night are available to the public. Attendees will be treated to White Rabbit beers, Maker’s Mark bourbon whisky, snacks, and hangover cures from Hydrodol.
